Board Certified Anesthesiologist
Dr. Izadi is a resident of Washington DC and has been practicing anesthesiology since 2004. He has been Medical Director of two medical centers, including one surgical. He has been awarded assistant professor of anesthesiology at New York Medical College. He is passionate about anesthesiology and lives by the motto ” Safety comes First”.

I graduated from Old Dominion with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011. I was honored to receive the Proctor and Gamble award of academic achievement for graduating top in my class. I am very passionate about continuing education and have done volunteer work in the area. I have extensive experience working with periodontal patients and those with high anxiety. My favorite part of being a hygienist is getting to know each patient and making them feel comfortable.
I grew up in a military family but spent most of my life in Fairfax down the street from Shield Dental Care! After many years working in Arlington, VA I am excited to be closer to home and working with the local community. I have been with Shield Dental Care since 2020. When I am not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids (another coming fall 2022). We love being outdoors, spending time at my parent’s lake-house in Charlottesville and visiting family overseas!
Registered Dental Hygienist
I have been a dental hygienist at Shield Dental Care since 2021. I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2011 with a bachelor’s in dental hygiene. I began my career in a multi-specialty practice in Boston for many years before relocating to Virginia in 2018 with my husband. I have since found my perfect job at Shield and I am committed to helping patients receive their highest level of care.
I have a one-year-old son, Connor, and a five-year-old Coonhound, Leo. On my free time, I like to bake cupcakes, work out, and travel with my family! My biggest achievement is running the Boston Marathon in 2016. My family and I like to go to the beach and love doing activities outside; seeing my son grow up to enjoy the outdoors has been really fun. Spending time with my family is the most important thing to me.
Dental Surgery Assistant
I have worked in dentistry for over 4 years, with a passion for oral surgery assistance. Working with Dr. Ghorbani is an amazing opportunity to grow in the dental field as well as a personally enriching experience to learn about patient care. I hope to expand my dental journey and continue treating our beloved Shield patients for a long time!
I have two athletic sons that keep me busy when I am not at the dental practice. I love spending time with them and going to their football and basketball games on the weekends.

Tina began her career in dentistry over 7 years ago. She received her degree at Old Dominion University, graduating in 2013.
She strives to make sure each patient feels comfortable and welcomed to the practice. Making patients feel comfortable about there dental needs and are excited to come back again is a number one priority for her. When not at the office, she enjoys spending time traveling.

Payam has been part of the Burke community for the past several years. He graduated from George Mason University with honors, where he received three business degrees. Since graduating, he has concentrated on all aspects of accounting, marketing, and business management of the dental practice.

I have been working in the dental field for over 12 years but have been devoted and committed to Shield for 5 years and counting. My passion has always been making sure patients feel as special and loved as possible. As soon as patients walk in, my nature is to help ease any nerves, anxiety, and revert those feelings to optimism and ensuring they are in the best of hands.
When not at Shield, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends and traveling the world is of course a must, since life is too short to sit and do nothing! Thankful for having been blessed with good health, three beautiful boys, and a loving husband.
Dental Insurance Coordinator
I am a rising Senior Biology Major at George Mason University, hoping to further my education and pursue a career in the dental field. I started out at Shield as an intern my senior year of high school after obtaining a dental x-ray certification and the completion of a two-year dental academy course. It has now been 3 years and counting since I have been a part of this amazing team and could not be more grateful. Within these 3 years, I have acquired much passion for dentistry and everything that it entails; connecting with patients, helping to educate them, and continuing to learn every day!
In my free time, I love going to coffee shops, reading, and going on road trips with family and friends!
